Kawasaki Ninja 650 KRT Edition Launched In India with ex-showroom price tag of Rs 5.49 lakh
India Kawasaki has launched a special KRT edition of its 2017 Ninja 650 with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 5.49 lakh, .The KRT stands for Kawasaki Racing Team and the bike is now draped in Kawasaki’s racing colours of black, grey and green along with the racing bike’s lettering as well. As far as the pricing is concerned, the Ninja 650 KRT is ₹ 16,000 more expensive than the regular Ninja 650. Also, there are no mechanical changes to the bike. The only change is the new colour scheme and graphics.
The Kawasaki Ninja 650 KRT and is powered by the same 67.2 hp BS IV compliant 649 cc parallel-twin engine. The unit generates 65.7 Nm of torque and is paired to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. The Ninja 650 KRT is also features updated brake callipers from Nissin and a Bosch 9.1 ABS (Antilock Braking System) as standard. The motorcycle is also around 22 kg lighter than the standard Ninja 650 which is expected to improve performance.The Ninja 650’s popularity is down it its 649cc motor and also its relaxed ergonomics. The motor, a fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, produces 67.3hp at 8,000rpm and 65.7Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. What makes the Ninja 650 a versatile entry-level premium motorcycle is also its friendly 790mm seat height, a 15-litre fuel tank and a manageable 196kg kerb weight, which makes it enjoyable within the city and out on the highway in equal measure.
Speaking on the new addition, Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors, said “The Ninja 650 KRT edition has done remarkably well in the USA, Europe and in other countries recently. We have got a good pool of Ninja 650 customers here in India as well. Those who were planning to buy Ninja 650, now have got another option with this new edition.”
The Ninja 650 KRT Edition will be available alongside the existing model and will not be sold in limited numbers. The bike will be available in Kawasaki dealerships from mid-November onwards.
